Not quite sure how to start?  The Startline 5k is exactly the place for you.  

The goal of this clinic is to teach you to learn to run a continuous 5k.  Starting with run/walk intervals, we build week over week to finish together with a continuous 5k.  Every week at the group run we also include information that goes far beyond the basics to ensure that once clinic is over, you have what you need to keep running!  This clinic is best for absolute newbies, runners who might be saying “its been a long while since I laced up my running shoes”, or runners that may be recovering from injury.  

Included:

Weekly Wednesday evening group run

Two weekly homework runs, to be completed on your own (or with new running friends from the group)

Weekly session pre or post run on a running related topic, which may include: mobility for runners, how to pick the right gear and shoes, intention setting, meditation and mindfulness for runners, instruction for proper running form, nutrition and hydration for running

NO RUNNING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

This clinic is geared toward training for the Canada Day Road Race in Edmonotn, Alberta, on July 1. Race registration is separate, and you can find all the details here:

Not racing? No problem! You don’t need to participate in a specific event to join this clinic. Whether you’re training for a different race or simply looking to build fitness and confidence, this program is for you!

DATES: April 23 to July 1 (weekly group run is on Wednesday at 6:00pm from Community Natural Foods in Edmonton.
